Rasam powder is a traditional South Indian spice used in soup (charu). This spice can also be used in stews as well. You may find many variations in preparing Rasam powder but this is the simplest, fastest and tastiest rasam spice mix. I prefer making fresh rather than preparing in bulk and storing.
Method:
In a coffee grinder blend all the ingredients.
To make Rasam: In a cooking pot – mix tomatoes, coriander leaves, green chili, garlic cloves, curry leaves, turmeric, and Hing. Add 3 cups of water and salt. Boil these ingredients for 7-8 minutes. Then add rasam powder and mix. Click here for the Rasam recipe
