Puffed Wheat Savory Snack

Description

As a movie experience is never complete without the popcorn, a trip to the beach is never complete without this savory snack (for Indians especially). This snack is loved by people of all age groups and all cultures. Just gather all the ingredients and mix them. As simple as that!

Method 

  1. In a large bowl combine all the ingredients except puffed wheat/rice and cilantro. Mix well
  2. Just before serving add puffed rice/wheat to the bowl and mix well. Garnish with cilantro. You can adjust the taste to your liking. If would like it to be spicier, you can add more chili powder.
  3. Enjoy!

Ingredients

4 cups puffed wheat or puffed rice
1/2 small onion finely diced
1/2 cup tomato finely diced
1/4 cup cucumber finely diced (optional)
1/4 cup cooked chickpeas (optional)
handful of peanuts
3 Tbs lemon juice
1/2 tsp paprika or chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 Tbs chopped cilantro
