Overnight Oats is a variation of oatmeal we regularly have for breakfast. It is a quick and easy meal to make, and the best part is there is no cooking involved. It can be made with any fruit of your choice. Mix all the ingredients the night before, leave it on the kitchen countertop, and it will be ready by the next morning.
Tips:
Makes 3-4 servings. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
NOTE: If you are not familiar with chia seeds and flaxseed powder, the look may not be appealing to you. Chia and flax have a bland taste. However, the feel of this recipe mainly comes from the fruit and nut. Chia seeds and flax seeds are excellent sources of fibre, omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants called lignans. High lignan intake appears to protect us against heart disease, other chronic diseases like diabetes and certain cancers including breast cancer.
