Breaking the fast with one of my favourite breakfasts – a big bowl of nutrilicious oatmeal. It is abundant in taste and health.
The key to making delicious oatmeal is choosing the fresh fruit, nuts and dry fruits that you like as toppings.
It is very easy to make, and it takes less than ten minutes to make a big bowl of it for the whole family.
These are the things that I have put in my bowl of oatmeal this morning (but you can make it with the toppings you prefer)
- Two bananas sliced
- One apple
- Sliced almonds
- Almond milk/soy milk
- Pinch of cinnamon
- One tablespoon of flaxseed powder
- 1 cup of rolled oats
Cook the oats with 2 cups of water in the microwave and then mix the rest of the ingredients. You can adjust the consistency by changing the quantity of non-dairy milk. To make it kid-friendly, (sweeter) you can either add more bananas or more raisins or a spoonful of maple syrup.
Your body will thank you for this.
