This is an authentic spicy South Indian dish made with Cauliflower and black pepper
Servings: 4-6 , Prep time: 20 mins
Method:
Cut cauliflower into half inch pieces. Boil them for 6-8 minutes with pinch of turmeric and ¼ tsp salt.
In a pan dry roast mustard seeds, urad dal, fennel seeds, red chili, curry leaves, onion, ginger garlic paste – stir and saute for 1 minute, then add tomato, turmeric – saute for 1 minute. Add 1/2 cup water – let it boil for 2 minutes. Add jeera powder, coriander powder, 1/2 tsp salt, pepper and cauliflower pieces – stir them well. Let them cook for 2 minutes.
Add coriander leaves for garnishing prior to serving. It is best served with rice.

| 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper |

| 1 teaspoon urad dal (split black gram/black lentil) |
| 1 red chili whole |
| Turmeric one pinch |
| Coriander powder – 1/4 teaspoon |
| Jeera powder 1/4 teaspoon |
| 1 tomato chopped |
| 1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds (saunf) |
| 10-12 curry leaves |
| 1/2 of small onion chopped |
| 1/4 teaspoon ginger garlic paste |
| 1/2 teaspoon salt |
| 1 teaspoon chopped coriander leaves |
