Overnight Oats

Overnight Oats is a variation of oatmeal we regularly have for breakfast. It is a quick and easy meal to make, and the best part is there is no cooking involved. Just mix all the ingredients on the before and leave it on the kitchen counter top or in the refrigerator. It will be ready for you to enjoy next morning.

  • 1 cup of oats
  • Two tablespoons of chia seeds
  • One tablespoon of flax seed powder
  • Two bananas sliced
  • Two apples
  • Sliced almonds
  • Blueberries
  • Raisins
  • 2-3 cups of non-dairy milk (I used almond milk). You could adjust¬†the consistency in the morning by adding more milk.

If you would like to make it sweeter add a spoon of maple syrup or more raisins or more bananas

Note: If you are not familiar with chia seeds and flax seed powder, the look may not be appealing to you. Chia and flax they have a bland taste. However, the feel of this recipe mainly comes from the fruit and nut. Chia seeds and flax seeds are excellent sources of fiber, omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants called lignans. High lignan intake appears to protect us heart disease, other chronic diseases like diabetes and certain cancers including breast cancer.
