Onion Rings

  1. Slice large yellow onion into rings
  2. Preheat oven to 450 F (232 C). Line the baking tray with parchment paper
  3. Prepare batter by combining brown rice flour,  plant- based milk, garlic powder, smoked paprika, savory and salt. The batter should be thick but adherable to coat
  4. In a separate bowl whisk together bread crumbs, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Set aside
  5. Using a fork, dip the onion rings into the batter and allow the excess to drip off.
  6. Transfer to the breadcrum mixture and coat evenly.
  7. Shake off excess and place them on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake them for 25-30 min until crispy and golden brown.



1 large yellow onion
2/3 cup brown rice flour
2/3 cup Soy milk (or any plant based milk)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp savory
Pinch of salt
For the coating:
1 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs or panko breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp salt
