DELICIOUS

Description

As the scent of baked apples travels through the hallways, you are sure to take a trip down your childhood memory lane. Can anything be more simple yet soft, sweet, deliciously childish!

Method:

You don’t have to break your head on what type of apples to choose – Granny smith, Gala, or Golden delicious, just pick your favorite!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Rinse the apple under running water, then pat it dry with a paper towel. You can use an apple corer or a paring knife to core the apple. If using the knife,  place the apple on a cutting board, with the stem pointing up. Insert the paring knife straight down into the apple, 1/4 inch away from the left side of the stem. Repeat this at the right side of the stem, making a square around the stem. Push the tip of the knife into the apple and rotate it around to cut out an even circle around the stem of the apple. Dig out the core of the apple including the seeds and discard them.

Place the cored apples in a baking dish without stacking them on top of each other. Press the raisins and cinnamon into the core center of apples. Fill the baking dish with 1/4 inch of water.

Bake for 45-60 min depending on your oven until the apples are soft. Make sure you don’t overcook them.

You can serve them warm as it is or topped with Banana icecream.

Ingredients

6-10 apples (depending on how many you can fit in your baking dish)
2-3 tablespoons raisins
Sprinkle of cinnamon
